Hello, and welcome!

My name is Rachel, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). I understand that starting therapy can bring up a mix of emotions, and reaching out for support isn’t always easy. My hope is that you will find a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together toward your goals.

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Throughout my training and career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of mental health settings, including private practice, substance use treatment, residential eating disorder treatment, intensive outpatient care, and community-based services. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals across the lifespan as they navigate concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, substance use, eating disorders, stress, self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

My therapeutic approach is primarily person-centered and integrates evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I believe that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and goals into therapy, and I strive to create a collaborative approach that reflects what is most important to you. Building a genuine, trusting relationship is important to me, and I value creating an environment where you feel supported as we identify your strengths, develop practical coping skills, and work toward meaningful change.

Whether you are navigating a major life transition, struggling with difficult emotions, working through relationship challenges, feeling stuck, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I look forward to getting to know you and working together toward the goals that matter most to you.
