Hello and Welcome!
My name is Alex and I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate (LCMHCA) and
have been in the field since 2021. Having earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2019, I then earned my Master’s degree in Clinical
Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University in 2022. My passion lies in working with
clients to achieve their goals, improve daily functioning, and improve their ability to regulate
emotions.
I work with teenagers aged 16+, young adults, and adults and have worked in both the
outpatient and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care. At the IOP level of care I gained
experience working with teens aged 13-18 struggling with suicidality, self-harm, trauma/PTSD,
depression, and anxiety. I also gained experience working with families of teens and young
adults impacted by mental health challenges and have over 4 years of group counseling
experience.
I aim to bring a bright and positive energy to the Simply Thrive clinical team and enjoy building
rapport with my clients. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for my clients to
feel validated, understood, and supported. I utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
(DBT)-informed approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed
approaches, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness in my sessions.
